Traitor tells in detail the story of Benedict Arnold and his path to treason. Fritz gives us a wonderful background study of the man behind the acts, and the events leading up to his treachery. I did at times find it to be a little more heated (or even slightly venomous) when it came to Arnold’s actions than other books I’ve read on the subject, but overall the facts are presented accurately. This book is well researched and written and is most suitable for the middle school age child. (Gr. 5-8) For further reading on this subject check out “The Real Benedict Arnold” by Jim Murphy.
