In The Top of the World Jenkins gives the young reader and the curious adult a colorful look at the tallest mountain in the world – It’s history, it’s geography, it’s varying climates, and what it takes to climb it. The illustrations are wonderfully created from cut paper and are extremely simple and colorful.
While expressing his awe of the mountain, Jenkins is very informative and does not sugar coat what a dangerous task this climb is. This is a great book for the junior geographer and mountaineer.
