The Curious Gardener is the unique story of a young boy who discovers a little patch of nature on an unused elevated railway platform. The boy decides that this garden needs some tending and soon the garden spreads all over the railway. But the gardener and his garden don’t just stop at the railway they spread the green all over the formerly drab city.
This is a utopian tale that will hopefully teach children (and remind adults) how beautiful nature can be, and show the power of nature to heal and reclaim itself if only given a little hand. This book (along with some actual gardening) would be well used in K-3 classrooms to teach ecology and encourage future green thumbs.
